This was a quick, interesting read. Neither the characters nor the storyline were particularly exciting, but the author pulled it all off with some good writing and a fast-paced plot.
As much as a I dislike it, I’m a lot like Pepper; her quirks, her insecurities, even the way her mind works is similar to my own. Many of the topics the characters address in this books are ones that I’ve pondered myself.
Her values... not so similar. There were a bunch of very... prudish comments bordering on judgmental. Which wasn’t great. Not only was she prudish, but also constantly falling into stereotypes, and always looking down her nose at those she was off-handedly commenting on.
Still, it was a very well written and dynamic story. As simple (and occasionally offensive) as it was, I never got bored. Gotta say that jab at Uruguay at the beginning was definitely not the best part of the book, but it was overall enjoyable.
